Ministry Of Cannabis Review

Ordering cannabis seeds can be scary!

And not only scary, but they can also be downright anxiety-inducing.

You have so many questions floating through your mind – am I going to get good seeds, what if they don’t germinate and what can I do if I don’t?

Then there’s shipping – what if customs officials find it, what if they inform the authorities and my boss finds out and worst of all, what would my parents think if they see delivery from somewhere called Ministry Of Cannabis?

And on top of that, most deliveries take up to 3 weeks, so you just have to sit with all these worries until then.

So what is one to do?

Well, you need to find yourself an excellent, all-around seed bank which has all the basics covered (seed quality, shipping, payment.)

Unfortunately, reliable seed banks are hard to come by. That’s why I always keep my eyes and my ears open and whenever I stumble on someone I think can be trusted, I let all of you know.

Here’s my review of Ministry Of Cannabis, who by now has become a pretty common name in the weed seed biz.

About Ministry Of Cannabis

Ministry Of Cannabis started up sometime in the early 2000s, which makes them pretty old to the cannabis seeds game.

From 2008 and 2009, they started breeding and selling only feminized and auto-flowering seeds. They moved their head office from Amsterdam to the sunny shores of Barcelona in 2014.

Even though they don’t have an office in Amsterdam anymore, they still produce their seeds in the Netherlands (feminized seeds) and in Spain (auto-flowering seeds).

Ministry Of Cannabis is also a regular face at many cannabis events and expos around Europe, so they have a pretty public persona.

My Experience With Ministry Of Cannabis

I really don’t get it. There are so many people here in the US who smoke weed along with so many weed farms where and pharmacies where you can get it legally.

But even with such an established cannabis culture, there are still so few here in the US. But fortunately for us, most of the European banks ship to the US. The only problem is you have to wait up to 3 weeks or more sometimes. But I did finally get it, and here’s my review of what’s good with Ministry Of Cannabis.

Seed Quality (8/10)

Ministry Of Cannabis says its mission is two-fold:

  • They want to preserve all the classical cannabis strains (like White Widow) in the female form so that none of them die out or go extinct. They want to keep working on these strains and ensure they last the test of time.
  • They want to keep on developing new and better strains – some of the strains they’ve introduced to the market over the years include Carnival and Zensation.

The seeds I got were definitely of the best quality, just as I was expecting from all the positive reviews I read on their website. They also have a 90% germination guarantee, which means 9 out of 10 seeds will mature. They would not be giving these guarantees away unless they had complete faith in their seeds.

You also get a few free seeds depending on the size of your order.

Strain Variety (5/10)

Ministry Of Cannabis has about 20 total different strains, all of which are either feminized or auto-flowering.

This might seem like a little less but it’s worth remembering that they themselves, grow and breed everything they sell. They don’t resell anybody else’s seeds.

Ministry of Cannabis is in this for the long haul, and their focus is on quality, not quantity because after all, they have a reputation to maintain.

You can go through the whole catalog of strains on their website. Their website is super easy to navigate and has plenty of information and vital statistics on each strain (THC and CBD percentage, growing time, outdoor/ indoor cultivation, yield, etc. )

There are also plenty of customer reviews supplementing this information.

Even though the strain variety isn’t that diverse, they still have the basics like high THC, high CBD, Sativa/ Indica, etc. So, it might not be a big problem unless you’re looking for something really specific.

They also keep introducing new strains from time to time, so be sure to keep an eye out on their website.

Shipping And Discretion (5/10)

Shipping starts at €8 for countries within the European Union and then, 10 euro for anywhere in the rest of the world. Orders which amount to more than €75 are actually shipped for free via registered mail. Thus, it is not that expensive at all.

Shipping in the European Union takes an average of 7-10 days, and it takes 15-20 days to reach North America. This is not that fast, but it’s pretty much what the industry standard is.

What I had a problem with was that there was no guaranteed delivery. There is only one delivery fee, and there isn’t one for extra stealth or assured delivery.

I usually always pay the extra fees for guaranteed delivery, because I do not want to worry about “Are they even going to get here?”

What this means, that if the seeds get caught by customs officials, they won’t resend the product. Now that does not mean that they will get caught, because they do ship the seeds somewhat stealthily.

They don’t ship the seeds in their original bags. Instead, they use a plain transparent bag which has the initials of the strain on it and then they put it into a bubble envelope.

This is okay, I guess, but in my opinion, there is definite room for improvement in the stealth department.

Having extra stealthy and guaranteed delivery would have definitely put my mind at a lot more ease.

Payment (5/10)

They accept payments through Bitcoin, Mastercard, Visa, bank transfer, Moneygram (for orders exceeding €100) or cash mailed to the address provided at checkout.

No points for guessing that Bitcoin and cash letters are the safest forms of payment if you want to stay completely anonymous. However, money envelopes might get misplaced or lost, so do them at your own risk

However, they still don’t accept PayPal for payment. This is not the first time I’m seeing this. A number of European seed banks seem to have a problem with Paypal.

The real issue is that they have a restriction on debit and credit card use –

The maximum payment a customer can do with a Mastercard or a Visa is €350. This is not a per order limit, but rather a customer limit (which means there’s a lifetime limit of €350)

Thus, if you want to make multiple purchases over time, you have to use Bitcoins or some other form of payment.

This is kind of restrictive, but at least, you don’t leave a paper trail, like you would with cards.

Customer Service (7/10)

Ministry Of Cannabis is really committed to providing good customer service. You can email them at any time of the day, and they will get back to you very promptly within a maximum of 24 hours.

They have employees in 3 different countries, and it is a pretty large scale operation, so most of the time, you’ll have somebody out there to help you out.

Will I order from Ministry Of Cannabis again?

Ministry Of Cannabis is exceptionally dependable with the quality of seeds they send. However, they don’t have a large number of choices when it comes to weed strains.

That’s not exactly a problem for me, but if you like a unique, particular kind of strain, you might not find it here.

But I will order from them again, simply because the quality is top-notch. I only wish that they start providing a “delivery guarantee” and an “extra stealth” option.
