MedTerra CBD review: Is it Worth it?

While most reputed brands concentrated on full-spectrum CBD products, MedTerra CBD chose to make GMO-free hemp as their source material and THC-free CBD tinctures and capsules, especially ‘CBD isolates’, their Unique Selling Point.

For this reason, MedTerra’s products are best suited for those who must undergo drug tests on a regular basis and/or who want to steer clear of even the slightest bit of Tetrahydrocannabinol or THC.

Produced from organic, non-GMO hemp grown locally in Kentucky, MedTerra’s products are not only high on quality, and on our top 10 CBD oil list, Also their third-party lab tests are also readily available on their very cool-looking and easy-to-navigate website.

Besides, their products are quite affordable too, however, with no compromise on their quality whatsoever.

Is MedTerra Worth It as a brand?

Making good of their promise to provide “true seed-to-sale purchases”, MedTerra boldly declares that its products are made from 99% pure CBD – in complete compliance with the existing laws and regulations.

The brand maintains that its products contain no THC. In fact, CBD isolates are their strong selling point. Besides, they also highlight on their website that the industrial hemp is grown and extracted in as per the strict guidelines set by the Kentucky Department of Agriculture.

Carrying out production under the Hemp Pilot Research Program, MedTerra provides high-quality CBD products to customers across the country (in all 50 states) as well as most of the world.

Their extraction process also demands special mention here. MedTerra uses the whole plants and opts for the cleanest method of producing their isolates – CO2 extraction – that gives their products the high quality that they are known for.

Using whole plants, instead of only the flowers, also helps in making their products affordable. Their products are quite popular, especially among those who are looking for THC-free CBD products, that too, at a budget-friendly price.

In this review, we will cover all aspects of their products to give you a fair idea about what to expect from their products and whether or not you should buy their products.

Ingredients

MedTerra focuses on selectively breeding different strains of hemp having high levels of CBD. You must remember that quite a few strains of industrial hemp, though do not contain THC, also do not contain high levels of CBD in them. The company works closely with the local farmers to ensure a superior final product.

They work in partnership with the Kentucky Department of Agriculture’s Industrial Hemp Pilot Research Program to ensure they use the best quality, food-grade, organic hemp as the base for their pure CBD isolates.

As for the carrier oil, they use MCT coconut oil, which is not only a good carrier but also good for our health.

Drug Test

With MedTerra’s products, there is no fear of testing positive on a drug test.

Even though a lot of people prefer a full-spectrum CBD product for its wide range of benefits, this brand assures consumers that CBD isolates can do that just fine, without the interference of any psychoactive components, like THC, with the treatment process.

The official company name of the brand is MedTerra CBD, LLC, which was founded in 2017. The company is headquartered in Laguna Hills, California.

MedTerra CBD’s Pure CBD

CBD Tinctures

Ways of Consumption

MedTerra’s CBD tinctures, available in 30 ml bottles of three variants – 500 mg, 1000 mg, and 3000 mg CBD dosage, are used like any other CBD tinctures – sublingually.

Each bottle contains a maximum of 30 servings of 1 ml (dropper with markers included in the package) each. You need to draw one serving at a time, drop it under your tongue and hold for a minute or so. The substance gets absorbed into your bloodstream through the sublingual gland under your tongue.

Then swallow what remains of the oil down with a glass of water.

You can adjust your dosage between 0.25 and 1 ml.

Based on the strength of the tincture you buy, the amount (in mg) of CBD you get in each serving (assuming you take a max of 1 ml) is:

500mg: 16mg CBD

1000mg: 33mg CBD

3000mg: 100mg CBD

Their product page comes with the strength-wise test results from third-party laboratories – all of which prove that the products are free of any psychoactive substances like THC and contaminants like residual solvents, heavy metals, pesticides, and other microbial contaminants.

They also contain no other cannabinoids or terpenes, which means it also has no hemp-like taste or aroma.

All their tinctures contain 99.6% CBD Isolate and MCT coconut oil.

This is the most effective and bioavailable form of consuming CBD, though you have to be careful with the measurement to be consistent with your dosage.

My Experience

I was a little skeptical about trying out MedTerra’s CBD tincture, given that it’s cheaper than tinctures from other reputed brands. Still, I took on the task of reviewing this product and stopped my usual CBD regimen for a week to better understand this product.

Knowing that they use the full-plant extract to isolate the CBD for their products, I bought the 1000 mg strength bottle. I took 1 ml servings (to start with) twice daily (after breakfast and after dinner). I did feel some subtle effects from the third dose onwards.

My joint pains and back pain seemed to numb a bit. I was sleeping a bit better and feeling less depressed through the day, owing to my aches and difficulties in moving around.

By the fifth day, I was feeling quite well and relaxed. I could resume work and concentrate on it too. I believe my behavior towards others started improving again, as I started getting positive looks from others.

Owing to the fact that my pains and depression had made me aloof and distant, people usually stayed away for fear of witnessing an outburst. My family members too seemed to notice the change.

Although its effects were a little slow on the uptake, it did, in fact, help. However, I believe the 3000 mg variant would have been better for me, as the pain hasn’t entirely gone as it had with my usual brand of CBD tincture.

Price

MedTerra’s products are, in general, on the cheaper side. But by no means low in quality.

The prices of their three variants of tinctures are as follow:

500 mg concentration costs you $34.99 (meaning $0.07/mg)

1000 mg concentration costs you $55.99 ($0.055/mg)

3000 mg concentration costs you $132.99 ($0.04/mg)

Dosage

Like any CBD product, finding your sweet spot is never simple. It is always about trial and error.

Try getting the exact quantity of CBD required for your specific weight and condition on a CBD calculator and start from there.

Take a dose of not more than 1 ml once or twice a day for three days to see if you experience any changes. Make adjustments accordingly.

If even after a week of use, you don’t see any visible changes, you may want to consider increasing the dose or even the strongest.

Every individual user has a different biology and requires a different dosage of CBD. Cannabinoids work very differently from other normal medications. So, you would need to try out a product to know for sure if it works for you.

My experience with MedTerra CBD was slow but eventually good.

CBD Gel Capsules

Ways of Consumption

Available in two concentrations – 25 mg or 50 mg per pill – these CBD gel capsules are available in small bottles containing 30 pills each.

Like any other pill, you need to swallow it down with water.

The best part about any CBD gel capsule is that you don’t have to worry about the dosage, as it is preset.

Besides, this is good for those who don’t like the taste of hemp. However, with MedTerra’s products that is not an issue anyway, as CBD isolates don’t have any flavor or aroma.

Grown and extracted in Kentucky, these products are fully legal and in compliance with the Kentucky Department of Agricultural Industrial Hemp Pilot Program. Tested by third-party labs for psychoactive substances (THC) and contaminants, their products are certified by the US Hemp Authority.

My Experience

After the slow reaction with MedTerra’s medium-strength tincture, I was even more skeptical about the effectiveness of its capsules.

After my week-long lapse from CBD medication, I was in excruciating pain. I needed relief, and fast. Capsules are known for their slow reaction time, as they have to go through the digestive system, where it must interact with the digestive enzymes of the liver to be metabolized and gain access to the bloodstream.

It usually takes around 45 – 60 minutes to start acting. For me, it took over 60 minutes. But, when it started working, it gradually eased the pain and relaxed my strained muscles on my back and neck.

The effect lasted for around 3 hours, which was a little disappointing. When I went looking for user reviews after my experience, I found some unusually good reactions from some users. That made me a bit suspicious about the genuineness of these user reviews.

Another thought crossed my mind: If their production is completely done in Kentucky, why is their office in California?

Nonetheless, given the cost of the product, I would say, the effects did not entirely disappoint me.

A fair warning to all vegans: This may not be the best method of administration for you, as the capsule covers are made from bovine-based gelatin.

Price

Like we said earlier, MedTerra CBD provides budget-friendly products.

The prices of their two variants of capsules are:

Cost of bottles with 25 mg concentration (i.e. having total amount of CBD 25 x 30 = 750 mg) = $44.99 (meaning $0.06/mg).

Cost of bottles with 50 mg concentration (i.e. having total amount of CBD 50 x 30 = 1500 mg) = $66.99 (meaning $0.04/mg).

Dosage

The dosage for CBD capsules, like any other CBD product, depends on how much you require each day. It is best to take it in the morning after breakfast or at night after dinner for fast relief from pain and maintain a balance throughout the day. But, you need to be consistent with your dosage to achieve the intended experience.

FAQs About Medterra CBD

Q: Are MedTerra CBD’s products third-party tested?

A: All of MedTerra’s products are tested by a third-party laboratory and their CoA provided on their product pages.

Q: Can I use the CBD tinctures for vaping?

A: No, but they can be added to food items and beverages.

Q: Will MedTerra’s products get me high?

A: MedTerra’s products are made from CBD isolates. Not only do they not have any THC that can get you high, but they also do not contain any terpenes that give the CBD oil their usual flavor and aroma.

Q: What’s the source of hemp?

A: MedTerra sources their hemp through selective breeding of high-quality hemp seeds from across the world and organically grown on farms in Kentucky under the strict supervision of the State Department of Agriculture. They use the entire plant for the extraction process. Hence, the bioavailability of their products may be a tad bit weaker than those that use only the flowers of hemp to produce CBD oil.

Q: How long does it usually take to receive my shipment?

A: It takes around 1 – 2 days to ship out and around 7 – 10 days to reach you at your doorstep.

Q: Are their products as expensive as most other reputed brands?

A: No, MedTerra aims at providing CBD oil to each and everyone who needs it, and so have kept the prices quite low – cheaper than most other brands.

Parting Thoughts:

Given the price range, MedTerra’s products are quite cheap. Since they use the whole plant, not just the flowers, the CBD quality is a little less effective and bioavailable compared to other reputed CBD brands.

Nevertheless, they do still work, though a little slow on the uptake.

Since they are organically produced with all-natural ingredients and have no THC in them, MedTerra’s products are a good option for those who need to take drug tests often or are wary of even the slightest adverse effects from the psychoactive component.
