Crop King Seeds Review

Did your last batch of weed seeds fail to germinate no matter how much tender, loving care you provided them?

I know mine didn’t. But I’m not too angry about it though, because I was just testing it out.

However, getting faulty or dead seeds is a big problem in the online seed bank industry, and that’s why I want to sort out the genuine ones from the pretenders.

Even if the seeds are great, they might never reach your house. Heck, you might not even get to find out what happened to them until one day you get a call from a Customs Agent!

Only you didn’t send them to yourself, you sent them to your grandma’s house. So she’s the one they call up!

Get what I’m saying? It’s extremely hard to find a seed bank that delivers on all aspects – seed quality, variety and delivery guarantee.

So, on this crop king seeds review, I’m going to tell you my experience and what you’re getting into when you order from them.

Here’s an in-depth look at the good, the bad and the ugly of Crop King Seeds.

About Crop King Seeds

Crop King Seeds first cropped up (pun intended) in Canada back in the early 2000s, but they closed down temporarily in 2005 because there was a lot of uncertainty regarding cannabis laws in the country.

However,  after a long break, they started back up in the USA when a couple of states like Colorado and Washington had recently started legalizing cannabis. Soon enough, Canada followed suit and legalized it in their country as well.

In early 2013, Crop King Seeds started up their first physical store in Calgary. Now they ship their seeds from their main base up in Vancouver and through a hundred different retail partners with physical storefronts.

That’s right- they have a significant physical presence apart from their online store as well. \

My experience with Crop King Seeds

I remember, back in 2014, Crop King Seeds were the first ones to launch a weed commercial, and since then, have published several more.

They’re also a regular at 420 events and in cannabis conferences and expos around the world. That is why I was really excited to test out my first batch of seeds from Crop King.

Here’s what impressed me and what didn’t.

Quality [8/10]

My seeds germinated perfectly just as I was expecting them to. Crop King Seeds has been in the business for a long time, and they have a history of success. What’s also really impressive is that they have an 80%  germination guarantee – that means that out of all the seeds you buy, 80% of them will germinate.

This is very impressive as most seed banks don’t even publish their germination rates let alone offer a guarantee. If your seeds don’t germinate, you can get in touch with their customer service team, and they will send you new seeds to replace the faulty or dead ones.

However, there are still several negative reviews on the net, so there are a bunch of users who have faced problems with their seeds. But from what I got from my research, they mostly honor the germination guarantee.

Variety [6/10]

Variety isn’t exactly Crop King Seeds strongest suite but they still have 40 different types, so it’s not like they don’t have anything either.

Going through their slightly antiquated but really simple website, you’ll see that they have the usual Sativa and Indica strains. They have seeds which include the usual auto-flowering, feminized, regular, dwarf and mix seeds.

Apart from that, they also sort their seeds based on THC and CBD content. So if you have a medical condition and only enjoy a particular strain which is high in CBD or THC, you can find it.

The website is pretty informative on its own, and because Crop King Seeds have several physical stores, if you’ve got any doubts, you can simply go into one and talk to a sales representative. They’re all Canadian, so in all probability, they’ll be really helpful.

That’s a good stereotype lol!

You don’t have a huge amount of choice when it comes to selecting a strain, but they do have high-quality strains, which I guess sort of makes up for it.

Payment Options And Discounts [5/10]

All the prices are listed out in American dollars. Crop King Seeds have a decent number of payment options available like Visa, Mastercard and if you’re not a fan of paper trails, cash, and bitcoin. If you’re from Canada, you can also do bank transfers.

However, they do not accept checks, money orders, Western Union or international bank transfers, nor do they accept American Express. Bummer!

As for promos and discounts, they do offer occasional discounts and sales. If you subscribe to their newsletter, every once in a while, you will get discount codes. However, they are few and far between. Hence the prices you see listed on the page is basically what you have to pay.

If I could rack up some loyalty points, that is definitely a big incentive for me to order from them again.

Shipping And Discretion [8/10]

Crop King Seeds has a significant physical presence in Canada, but they ship their products worldwide to most countries. The shipping fee is a measly $10 for Canada, USA, Australia, and New Zealand.

For all other countries, the cost varies from $30 to $60 depending on the destination. It takes about 2-5 days to ship within Canada, and it might take up to 3 whole weeks to reach other parts of the world. So if you live out in Europe or somewhere, you’re better off ordering from there itself.

This does come with delivery tracking though and also guaranteed delivery.  Guaranteed delivery means your product will get shipped no matter what. Even if the government seizes it, they will simply re-ship it again and again till it reaches you. I really like the sound of that!

By their own admission, about 5% of their orders are seized. I really like how upfront they are about everything and this helps me trust them. But of course, they practice as much stealth as they can to ensure that doesn’t happen.

If you live in Canada, they will ship their products in original Crop King packaging as there are no laws preventing the sale of cannabis seeds.

International orders, however, are stealthily packaged with the seeds safely stowed away in or under random objects like pens, flashlights, or birthday cards.

Customer Service [8/10]

As far as customer service goes, they do seem to care a lot about as they offer delivery and germination guarantees which are simple things, but something that most of the big seed banks lack nowadays.

These guarantees make me so much more willing to buy from them, and I think if you’re a first-timer, these guarantees would really give you the courage you need.

You can contact their executives by live chat, phone or email. They do have real people behind the phone who are helpful and guide you in solving your problems. And of course, if you’re in Canada, you’ll have a whole load of Crop King Seeds physical stores as well.

This is the TL;DR of the entire article.

They have a small variety of strains, but they did have what I usually buy, so it wasn’t a problem for me. I don’t know if there are problems with the quality, because I didn’t experience them myself. Nor did my package was held up by the authorities.

It was a pretty smooth experience, and I would do it again.
